The requirements of the Good Fabrications
design brief were visually and creatively demanding.
The
company offers a very specialist and unique service and needed
a site
to reflect this, and the quality and precision of the components
they manufacture.
As manufacturers of specialist components for the racing-car industry, the site needed a ‘high-tech’ appearance.
The homepage features a 3D wireframe of an exhaust manifold which 'morphs' into the actual manifold manufactured by Goodfabs. This effect was achieved by commissioning a graphic artist to create illustrations of the 3D wireframe. This was then combined with a photograph of the final component using Flash.
This effect was used for several other components manufactured
by Goodfabs to demonstrate the service of design through
to manufacture.
The site also contains full details of other specialist services offered by Goodfabs and the manufacturing techniques they employ.
A scrolling data sheet is also included and contains technical details of the tools used, and bends that can be achieved.
